Bobby Salmon, Thanksgiving Dinner, and The Joys of Parenthood

Yes Bobby Salmon is Awesome.  He is a great Sunday School Teacher.  He is a faithful servant at church.  He's always got his friends back.  I like Bobby Salmon......

He is also a GREAT cook!  He made some VERY yummy BBQ for our church Thanksgiving Dinner tonight.  Thank You Bobby and Crew (I'm sure he had some helpers!)

Bobby is also a rabble-rouser......especially where my children are concerned!

Thanks, Bobby, for suggesting to my children we get another dog.....GREAT IDEA....NOT!

We are fortunate these are stuffed dogs!

ANYWAY....Back to Thanksgiving....

We look forward each year to our church Thanksgiving fellowship.
Such a sweet time of fellowship with friends.
This year was no different.

Joyce M graciously shared her tips and insights and advice on being first in line.  So cute!

Ashley H humbly admitted 2 deviled eggs were the perfect number.....and Joyce agreed to hook her up since her position in line was not quite as good as Joyce's.

The boy gave the food a BIG thumbs up!

Everything was off to such a great start.....
and this is where the pictures end....because believe me this is where the "fun" begins!
Twinkie Boy Lost his Mind!
What caused this?  Ummmm......
a) he didn't get to sit where he wanted.
b) he decided he didn't want to make a trade he had already agreed to
c) he was exhausted.
d)he was injured from a scooter accident
e) he didn't have his "lovey"
f) he wanted Mac and cheese and it was gone (he'd already had 2 helpings!)
g) he is a sinner-who wants what he wants-when he wants it.
h) who the heck knows?
i) ALL OF THE ABOVE

Yep-you guessed it: i

Oh my word.....Twinkie boys behavior tonight was truly terrible and of epic proportions.  The kind that leaves people wondering in your wake "what kind of parents are these".  Yep....EMBARRASSING!

So he kicked and screamed and raged the entire way to the car.
So if you find a black and blue boy size 2 tennis shoe in the church or the church parking lot it probably belongs to us!  We lost one in the "incident".  He continued the ENTIRE way home.....Good Times!

So what started out as a GREAT night ended up with wailing and gnashing of teeth......ahh....the Joys of Parenthood!

So we didn't intend to eat and run.....but eat and run we did!

  1. Aw, frustrating! And also strangely comforting. When one of mine does the same I will remember your struggle and not feel alone!!
