Why Yes Sir-re!
That would be MY GIRL!!!!!!
Yippee Yeah!!!
Way to go!!!!
So now she can not only hear every sound she needs to in order to read but now she also knows ALL the short vowel sounds, ALL the consonant sounds, and the five most common digraphs (2 letters combined to make one sound -th,-sh,-ch, -ck, -wh)! She can read AND spell ANY 3-sound word with a short vowel, as well as phrases and sentences composed of those types of words!!!!
I know, I know....so what she is about to be in the third grade.....I'm telling you I would be shocked to find a child that has worked harder....she has put in HOURS of work and effort and learned all sorts of strategies that so many of us take for granted. Reading for her is not coming easily....but PRAISE THE LORD...it is coming!!!!!
YEAH SOPHIE!!!!
So proud of you,
love-
Mama
PS....she still should not be asked to read in co-op or at church....however if she volunteers....then by all means please allow her to give it a whirl....but be ready to offer LOTS of help :)
THANKS for all the love and support and prayers!!!! She is going to beat this!!!
yay for sweet Sophie! Tell her I AM SO PROUD OF HER!!!
